A Time For Change
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. - Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (NIV)
Indeed, there is a time for everything. For our church it is time for a new Pastor to come on the field and follow God’s leadership in the direction that the Father would have us go. After shepherding this body of believers for the past 18 years, it is time to hand over that responsibility to a man of God who has been led to uproot his family and move from Idaho to Anderson.
I have every confidence that he is God’s chosen and that we all need to be prepared to follow his mantle of leadership. He has new energy, ideas, experiences and passion to bring real, positive changes to First Southern Anderson. I look forward to following him in his quest to honor God and make a difference in the lives of people.
Just like the change of the seasons, that bring new life and refreshments to the earth, it is time to welcome the change of leadership. That is my prayer for this church as we enter into this season under a new Pastor to wish him and his wife all of the blessings God has prepared for them. Please join me in prayer for Pastor Tad and Janis Walton as they begin their ministry here in Anderson on December 1st.
