Pastor
Hebrews 2:11 (NIV)
Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.
Pastor Tad and Janis Walton
Pastor Tad was born in Bellingham, Washington but lived in many different places around the Pacific Northwest as well as Long Island, New York. It is interesting that he ended up back in Bellingham for the last two months of his senior year of high school where he graduated.
Tad’s education included course work at Moody Bible Institute, Everett Community College, Biola University, and Talbot Theological Seminary, interrupted by four years in the Air Force. Military service took him to the Philippines and Warner Robbins, Georgia.
Tad has served in various part time and full time ministry positions over the years including youth pastorates, senior pastorate for thirteen years in Bellevue, Idaho, and seven years of missionary work in Haiti. Some of this ministry was bi-vocational as he worked for Coca-Cola in Los Angeles and 7-Up/RC in Redlands, California.
Janis was born and raised in Long Beach, California. She has enjoyed varied ministry/work experience including worship leading, singing, choral teaching and conducting, children’s work, food services for the Sun Valley Symphony, youth theatre, graphic design, and project directing for EbenEzer, Haiti.
Together, Pastor Tad and Janis have five children and eight grandchildren; all of their children serve in ministry.
They both look forward to this next chapter at First Southern Baptist Church Anderson worshiping and serving together as they “equip the saints for the work of service.”
