He Has Risen, Indeed!

Here we are once again in the spring of the year. The days are longer and warmer. The media outlets are filled with the talk of bunnies and easter eggs. But the Church is full of conversation about the empty tomb. It is called Easter Sunday but, actually, it is Resurrection Sunday.

Over two-thousand years ago an angel sat on the stone and announced that, “He is not here; He has risen!” That, being declared to the world, began a new episode in the life of mankind.

However, millions of people still continue to put their trust and hope in the inventions of man: family, government, social organizations, etc. Those, of course, will all fail. The only hope that we have is to put our lives in the hands of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. He will not fail!  To quote President Ronal Reagan, he said that the most frightening words to be heard are “We are from the government, and we are here to help.” Those programs do not work because they do not address the real issue.

That issue would be the sin in our lives which disrupts the fellowship that we can have with our Holy God. Only by repenting (turning away from) of our sins, believing in our hearts that He rose from the grave, and by confessing our faith in Him, can we have true joy and peace.

So why don’t you join the millions of people who have already done so and place your trust and faith in Jesus Christ. Easter eggs and chocolate candies might make the body feel good, but it will not change the soul. Turn over control of your life to someone who can make a real difference – Jesus Christ!
