Fear Not!

The world today is full of turmoil and strife. Anger seems to be the call of the hour and people refuse to listen to other points of view. This is true politically, socially, and relationally.

We clamor for civility and harmony and all we get is frustration and violence. But unfortunately, most people are looking for that peace in all the wrong places. Government can’t provide it. Institutions cannot make it happen. And even when we try personally to bring about peace it becomes seen as insincerity or weakness.

There is only one person who can provide the level of peace that we long for – Jesus Christ. In John 14:27, Jesus tells us "I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid.” (New Living Translation)

Our response to that statement should be to accept the gift! Jesus can and will give peace that passes all understanding. You need not be anxious or fearful. Believe that Jesus came as an answer to our need to be reconciled to Holy God and ask Jesus to be the Lord of your life and He will deliver on the promise of John 14:27.
